Morphy Auctions To Feature Paintings Created By Artisans From The Non-Profit Friendship Heart Gallery At Their Upcoming March 2016 Fine And Decorative Arts Sales Event.
100% of all proceeds from the sale of these works will go directly to this Lancaster, PA studio for artists with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Denver, Pennsylvania, February 18, 2016 – Morphy Auctions, the finest auction destination for fresh to the market collections, is excited to announce this exciting partnership as part of their upcoming Fine and Decorative Arts sale to be held on March 20th, 2016. Although this premier auction features over 500 paintings and outstanding selections of decorative and functional items, fine antiques, and jewelry, all eyes – and community wide interest – will certainly be on the 10 outstanding works of art created by the talented area artists from Friendship Heart Gallery. All items from this sale are on display in Morphy’s Denver auction gallery and available for preview now.
Friendship Heart Gallery, a creative arts studio for artists with developmental and intellectual disabilities, does remarkable work and is deserving of full community support. The gallery is a project of the Friendship Community, a Christian ministry cultivating capabilities of individuals with developmental disabilities in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties of South Central Pennsylvania since 1972. This is the first time Morphy Auctions has teamed with a local nonprofit organization for fundraising as part of a live sales event. But the fit could not be better, and Morphy’s welcomes the opportunity to help Friendship Heart Gallery gain greater recognition throughout the local area.
The caliber of the ten lots from Friendship Heart Gallery on offer in this sale is simply outstanding. Several paintings are abstract; others have city or nature themes. They are done by individual artists as well as by groups. Fine example include lot 459, a group painting entitled “Light Drizzle” (estimated at $600-900) featuring several figures walking along a colorful, tree lined street at night; lot 461, a group painting entitled “Birch Blues” (estimated at $700-900) featuring a grove of birch trees at twilight; and lot 460, a group painting called “Rogue Wave” (estimated at $500-800) which is a three panel canvas depicting unusually heavy seas. It goes without saying that all of the Friendship Heart Gallery paintings in this sale are highlights in their own way.
According to Dan Morphy, President of Morphy Auctions, “I’m excited and proud to work with the Friendship Heart Gallery. As a business owner I am grateful for the opportunity to not only help such a worthy organization, but an organization that is in my direct community as well. I hope that everyone takes a moment to look at the pieces in our auction and realize that 100% of the money raised from the sale of these items will go directly to this organization.” And Gabi Kime, the Gallery Coordinator of the Friendship Heart Gallery, adds, “We are excited for the opportunity to participate in Morphy Auctions’ Fine & Decorative Arts Auction. It allows us to share the artistic capabilities of our Artists with art lovers who may otherwise never hear of our Gallery and Studio. The Studio has more recently begun working on larger canvas collaborative pieces, in addition to our Individual standard size pieces, and this auction makes it possible to display a wide variety of these new works to a larger audience. We have so much enjoyed working with Morphy Auctions! We greatly appreciate their willingness to support such a unique Gallery and provide us another space to display and promote our talented Artists’ works.”
