DENVER, Pa. – An incredible Oscar Heyman orange and yellow fancy colored diamond necklace, a rare and important Bvlgari Serpenti Jaeger-LeCoultre 18K gold diamond bracelet with a secret watch, and a 1959 Rolex GMT-Master gilt Bakelite “Pepsi” wristwatch are all expected to surpass six figures in Morphy’s Fine Jewelry & Watches auction planned for September 24, live and online.
The 18K yellow gold and platinum Oscar Heyman natural fancy color diamond necklace with original black velvet Oscar Heyman presentation box and invoice is comprised of 95 cut-corner square diamonds with a total weight of 13.47cts, 21 princess-cut diamonds weighing 2.60cts, 36 square diamonds with a total weight of 2.93cts, and 571 assorted shaped fancy color diamonds.
Overall, the necklace has a total of 850 diamonds with a combined weight of at least 180.15cts. The original invoice (copy conveys to buyer) shows the diamond weights and the original sale price of $620,000 in 2014. The necklace is 17 inches long, with a gross weight of 164.4 grams, and is marked “18K, IRID.PLAT., 601955” with the “OHB” (Oscar Heyman & Bros) trademark. The estimate is $150,000-$250,000.
The rare Bvlgari Serpenti Jaeger-LeCoultre flexible three-coil diamond and ruby bangle bracelet in 18K yellow and white gold also carries a pre-sale estimate of $150,000-$250,000. It features 341 natural colorless diamonds (327 round and 14 pear) with an estimated total weight of 10.00cts, as well as two round cabochon ruby eyes. The lot includes the original Bvlgari box.
Bidders will be astounded when they realize the snake’s head on the bracelet hinges open at the mouth to reveal a hidden watch. The dial is marked “Jaeger-LeCoultre” and its features include a manual-wind movement with back-set crown. The inside diameter measures 1½ inches when fully coiled at rest. The gross weight is 179.3 grams. It’s marked “BVLGARI, 18Kt, 26 AL, 37083A.”
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 38mm GMT-Master wristwatch, Reference 6542, is in all stainless steel with original red and blue Bakelite bezel insert, tropical black gilt dial and roulette date wheel. The inner case-back is marked “6542” and dated “IV.1958.” The case is unpolished, showing moderate signs of wear consistent with age and use. The Bakelite insert has a warm glossy surface.
The watch is powered by Rolex’s calibre 1030 automatic self-winding movement and is marked “N824242.” It is accompanied by the original serialized chronometer certification card marked for “Bucherer, Paris” and the caseback is engraved “Rev. John P. Gundersen” with a Messianic Star of David. The watch has been fully tested and in good running order. Estimate: $120,000-$180,000
A stunning, 15-inch-long estate platinum emerald and diamond flower necklace consisting of seven pear-shaped faceted emeralds measuring from 14.5x9mm (largest) to 11.5×6.5mm (smallest), with an estimated total weight of 15.00cts, and 559 round brilliant cut near-colorless natural diamonds with an estimated total weight of 30.00cts, should bring $70,000-$100,000.
Anxious to slip onto an appreciative new finger, a14K white gold natural light brown diamond solitaire ring boasts one round brilliant-cut natural diamond weighing 7.87cts, graded Q/R color, very light brown, SI2 clarity. On to the wrist, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 40mm Day-Date wristwatch, Reference M228238-0054, is designed of solid 18K yellow gold with a fluted bezel and factory diamond-paved dial having 10 baguette-cut diamond hour markers. The 228238 was first introduced in 2022 and remains in production today. The gold “President” bracelet is fully linked, showing 11 screws. Estimate: $50,000-$75,000
A very nice 14K white gold tanzanite (121.44ctw) and diamond (16.70ctw) statement necklace, 17 inches long, is accompanied by an original GGA appraisal report with an ERRV of $381,290. The width at the center measures 19mm and it is marked “14K.” The presale estimate is $50,000-$80,000.
An 18K white and yellow gold fancy yellow diamond (3.21ct) and diamond (0.83ctw) ring is accompanied by a GIA natural colored diamond report copy and a GGA appraisal report with an ERRV of $125,390. It is marked “750” and the ring size is 6¼. The estimate is $40,000-$60,000.
Carrying an identical $40,000-$60,000 pre-sale estimate, a platinum emerald (11.37ct) and diamond (0.80ctw) ring is accompanied by an original AGL prestige gemstone report and a GGA appraisal report with an ERRV of $332,290. It is marked “PT900” and the ring size is 6¾.
A rare and important pair of 18K yellow and white gold Van Cleef & Arpels vintage diamond door knocker earrings in the original signed case is set with a total of 70 round brilliant cut near-colorless graduated natural diamonds with an estimated total weight of 4.00cts. The earrings are non-pierced and they have a gross weight is 65.1 grams. The estimate is $40,000-$60,000.
Rounding out this short list of dazzlers is an antique platinum Art Deco diamond bracelet having three bezel-set central old European round-cut diamonds, each measuring 6.5mm in diameter, along with another 416 round-cut diamonds and 24 straight baguette-cut diamonds.
